Sunday, June 22 Travel Day

Monday, June 23  “Burgundy”
The first day in Burgundy begins in the village of Flavigny-Sur-Ozerain, home of Europe’s oldest viewable crypt, the famous Anis Candy Factory, set of the “Chocolat” movie, and the location of our first winery visit; “Les Caves de Flavigny”. You will visit The Fontenay  Abbey, one of the oldest Cistercian monasteries in Europe. The magnificent Romanesque-style structure founded in 1118 by St. Bernard, is located in a marshy Burgundy valley.

Tuesday, June 24 “Cotes de Nuits”
Visit two wineries including Domaine des Lambrays, in the renowned Cotes de Nuits vineyards. Experience the beautiful villages of Gevrey-Chambertin, Morey Saint-Denis, and Nuits Saint-George. You will lunch at the quaint restaurant “La Petite Auberge” in Vosne Romanée, as well as the world famous Vosne Romanée Vineyard.

Wednesday, June 25  “Cotes de Beaune” and Beaune
Today you will visit two wineries in the famous Cotes de Beaune, one of which is where Sébastien studied oenology and viticulture, Lycée Viticole de Beaune, the other in the heart of the beautiful City of Beaune; the historical Hospices and their winery and cellars.

Thursday, June 26  “Cotes de Beaune”
You’ll head to the Cooper, “Tonnellerie Claude Gillet” for a comprehensive lesson on one of the oldest crafts still in existence today. Spend an afternoon in St. Aubin, with one of Sebastien’s favorite winemakers, Dominique Derain, a bio-dynamist who treats this group with a great educational tour, tasty casse-croute and wonderful wine!

Friday, June 27  “Chablis”
Chablis is notorious for its Limestone Chardonnay, but also for its red roofed city, which we will tour along with two wineries; historical “Chateau Long-Depaquit” and the state of the art, “Laroche”. The River Serein flows through the narrow streets of the village, making this place absolutely breathtaking.

Saturday, June 28 “Beaune”
Our day in Beaune will include a visit to “Les Caves Patriarche”, where a walk through a 5KM underground labyrinth of wine galleries and taste wonderful wines will delight. Le Marché (market) on Saturday mornings is in full swing and a “free morning” in Beaune will be welcomed as we shop through the food and gifts in this magical city.
