Isabelle Truchon is an award winning, nationally recognized
decorative artist known for her ability to weave together
innovative artistry and practical skill.
With a background in History of Art, Painting and the Performing
Arts, Isabelle's talent and experience have brought her career
in decorative art to a marked success in installing, producing,
and instructing. She continues to work outside the box,
reinventing the wheel of decorative painting and fine art
through her experimentation with texture, relief, and mixed
media techniques.
Isabelle's Fine Art works include her Byzantine inspired
Collections of Frescos, Traditional Iconography, Illuminations,
and Charcoal drawings. Currently, the artist is producing eight
original collections which can be viewed on a rotating basis,
every four months in the Tasting Room of Doukénie Winery in
Hillsboro, Virginia where she serves as Artist in Residence. The
Artist also sells her collections and Decorative Art services
through Blackberry’s Design Center in Purcellville, Virginia. In
addition, Isabelle instructs and is Studio Manager at Craftworks
Learning Center in West Virginia.
Venetian Plasters, Clay, Glazes, Dry Pigments, Metallic Leaf,
Powders and Waxes are Isabelle’s primary choice of media used to
transform surfaces ranging from ceilings and walls, to cabinets
and floors in Residential and Commercial establishments under
the framework of her Decorative Arts and Painting Company:

Isabelle’s credentials include, co-founding and directing of a
premier Decorative Art Studio in California, her appearances on
many television segments featuring her craft, and the production
of her faux finishing video project entitled Art for Living.
Isabelle’s love of teaching is rooted in her passion for
inspiring others to reach their full creative potential. Truchon
offers private and group classes in Fine Art, and Decorative
Painting throughout the year at Doukénie Winery and Craftworks
Learning Center.
