Wine Aficionado, Linda Meyerriecks, is fundamental to Doukénie Winery’s philosophy and concept. She brings her many skills from the publishing and educational worlds, as well as her recent experience in learning to become a Master Gardener.

A 38-year veteran of the National Geographic Society, Linda Meyerriecks was Photo Editor for National Geographic Traveler over the past eleven years. As one of the Photo Editor team at Traveler, Linda was responsible for defining the photographic vision of the magazine. While at Traveler, she created and produced special issues, calendars, and a reprint program. She solicited prizes for Traveler's annual Photo Contests, was one of their judges, and continues to judge for other contests, as well. Since her retirement from the National Geographic Society in 2009, Linda started her own business at www.photoshepherd.com, offering her skills as Photo Editor, Advisor, Mentor, and Curator to photographers (professional and emerging), publishers, museums, and galleries. She continues to work under contract for National Geographic Books, as Illustrations Editor and Project Editor. She also offers workshops, and continues to instruct the popular "Travel Magazine Photography Assignment" class at the Maine Media Workshops where she has been teaching for over eight years.

Linda was the Founder/Director of the International Photography Workshops, which she directed in Hawaii, Italy, Austria, and Belgium in the 1980’s. She received her BFA at Pratt Institute.
