On March 12, Jamie Rowley, a mother of two and resident of Loudoun County, was hit by a car as she was training for the Virginia Wine Half Marathon.  Jamie has two children and was a Heritage Club member. She visited the winery often with her children, family and friends.

On June 21, Potomac River Running will be hosting the Mountcastle Plastic Surgery Twilight Festival 4-miler, which will benefit the Run for Jamie Foundation set up in memory of Jaime Rowley and to focus on promoting runner safety awareness and to support others in Loudoun County who have suffered the loss of a parent.

At the Virginia Wine Half Marathon, a team of Jamie’s friends ran for her and Lansdowne Resort and Destination Race made a $4,000 contribution to Jamie’s Foundation. The entire community is supporting this family in many ways. We at Doukénie want to help too. We have seven people, staff and friends of Doukenie Winery, who will walk/run in the June 21 race. Registration is $40/runner and Doukenie is paying for the team as a contribution. The registration cut off is JUNE 19. You can register yourself here and see more about the race and activities. Or you can Email Maria if you’re interested in being a part of the Doukénie team.

Please consider making a donation online at gofundme.com and if you can’t make a financial contribution, prayers and good wishes are always welcome. Please share this post with as many people as possible to spread the word about this worthy cause.
